"When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child."
I have so many things to say to my daughter, the 11-year old. Technically, she's 11 and 10/12th-years, which is why she has no desire to hear the things I have to say. These things would be called, in education speak, "teaching points." From my perspective, my points are of utmost importance, because I gained the knowledge through personal experience--often, emotionally brutal personal experience. And how can anything be more important that my opinion on a subject?
Alas, the Wee One isn't impressed with my teaching points--at least, not yet. One day, though, I think she might be. Certainly, my preoccupation with wellness (rather, disease, but "wellness" sounds much nicer, doesn't it?) also gives me daily pause to consider my numbered days. . .
And so, it is with the intent to educate my daughter that I write these thoughts. And it is with the intent that you might also educate her, that I have enabled comments.
Ah yes, attribution. Sophia Loren gave the quote.
